H.U.M.P. Day!

Wednesday November 24, 2010

On this day before Thanksgiving, we'd like to take time to reflect on God's goodness.  Whereas we're not where we want to be, we're surely not where we once were.  For one thing, we have ceased to be "self"-worshippers; being only concerned about our 4 and no more.  And now, through God, we've developed hearts to grow in Him, and stay totally devoted..

This season not only calls for us to be grateful, it also calls for us to be givers.  By definition, the word Thanksgiving simply means "grateful giver".  That being said, we cannot truly celebrate this Thanksgiving holiday without being grateful to God for His faithfullness, and "sharing" His love through the giving of ourselves.  Our mission this holiday season is to seek opportunities to be a blessing to someone's life.  Is your child getting new games or toys this year?  If so, try to see if some of their old ones can be refurbished and turned into a blessing for someone else's child.  Or, pick up a new item to bless the kid on your street who probably won't get anything this year.  Share your Thanksgiving meal with someone who has lost a loved one and subsequently will be alone this holiday season.  All of these ideas can be explored so God's glory can be on display this holiday season.  God bless you....Happy H.U.M.P. Day!
