Be Blessed!!!

Sunday June 27, 2010

On several occasions I've opened this devotional with "Blessings, Friends & Lifers".  That's not just a vague statement put in place to solicit the reader's attention, I really desire that you be blessed.   God's blessing is critical to the life of the Christian.  Without it, there is no identifiable trace of His perfect love and care in our lives.  To have God's "blessing" is to have His approval, not just His gifts.   We must understand that being blessed allows us access to supernatural favor.  Quite specifically, having His favor is better than life itself.  Incidently, just as there are principles that access the blessing of God, there are also practices that block blessing.  Let's explore them.

1)  The Destructive Tongue- (what we say about ourselves)
2)   Evil Speaking- (what we say about others)
3)  Anger
4)  Disobedience in Tithing
5)  Witchcraft
6)  Harming the Innocent
7)  Unforgiveness
8)  Racism
9)  Legalism (religion)
10) Dishonoring Mother & Father

Of course we cannot get into all of them in today's devotional.  We will however discuss a pair of them each day for the next few days.  Our purpose is simple.  We want our brothers and sisters to be blessed.  We desire God's approval on your life.  Ever wonder why you seem to get so close to that good thing, yet it always seems to slip away?  Do you ever wonder why you can't seem to get to the next level?  You're not alone.  Most of us experience these feelings.   Finally there's a "why" to our "what".  Stay tuned my friends, the best is yet to come.

Okay, today is Sunday.  So first of all, find your place of praise and offer God your total devotion.  Don't let this day go by without giving Him all you got.  Second, determine which of the principles above may be hindering you.  Begin your own self-study.  Meet us on this blog so we can compare notes.  God wants you to be blessed.  And if He wants you to have it, you may as well walk in it.

Prayer:  Lord, we want all that You have said we can have.  Because we pledge our devotion to You daily, we know You have the best in store for us.  So take us on this journey to making You famous by walking in everything You want for us.  Thank You for Your favor for life.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.
