Prayers That Prevail: Justice

Sunday August 7, 2011

Today's Passage: Isaiah 61
Memory Verse: Isaiah 61:8

Father, we first give You praise for Your faithfulness and kindness. There is no one like You. No one cares for us like You, no one protects us like You, and no one loves us like You. No matter where we are or what we have, we appreciate everything You do for us. "We are content with the manna You give us". What an awesome God You are!

Because You so perfectly care for us, we have no need to be consumed with ourselves. So we turn our face toward Your broken, bound, and addicted children. Your word says You love justice. Therefore, let justice be our love and passion as well. Let us bring Your justice to those who have been abused. Let us bring justice Lord to those who have been neglected and thrown away. They need to know that You've been there all along. Let us bring justice to the impoverished and to the homeless. They need to know Your love still exists in this world. Justice! That's Your command over Your children. And we receive it now, and forever more, in Jesus' name. Amen
