"Be generous to the poor--you'll never go hungry..."

God's promises are sure....even when the economy is bad.  We just have to position ourselves to activate the promise.  Everytime a promise/blessing was issued by God, there was a "statement of activation" preceding or following it.  I mean, we know God's not a slot machine, but His design basically says: "If I can get it THROUGH you, I can get it TO you."  The above quote comes from Proverbs 28:27 (Message).  Within it you'll see a promise preceded by a statement of activation.  The promise 'you'll never go hungry' is led by the statement 'be generous to the poor.'    Which means if we want to walk in abundance, we must make abundance happen for someone else.

Our mission today is generosity.  Find someone who may be less fortunate than you and bless them.  Try to provide a meal or something they can use to help get through this hot summer (hat, sunglasses, etc).  Be creative in your approach.  The more thought you put into them, the more thought God puts into you.  Giving to someone less fortunate always makes God's heart smile.  Oh, and when they ask you why you're doing it, just tell them you give..... to keep from going hungry.
