Today's Passage: Leviticus 19:3
Memory Verse: Same
Sunday May 9, 2010
M is for the many things you've given me.
O is for outstanding love and care.
T is for the thankless acts of service.
H is for the happiness you inspire.
E is for the excellence you bring.
R is for the rock you've always been.
May God continuously bless you Mom. We will always honor you, not only because you deserve it, but because it's God's mandate for us. As we know, God is explicit in His instructions that the children honor their mothers, but back in Leviticus 19:3, He says "every one of you shall "revere" his mother, and keep My Sabbaths; I am the Lord your God." To revere is to regard with respect, tinged in awe. Which means our behavior should always be respectful toward our mothers. I know there are occasions where you're not in agreement with her, but you have to "respectfully" disagree. This principle was as important to God as His Sabbath. Incidently, maybe your childhood was tough. Maybe your Mom caused you pain in some area. If so, I pray you will one day find the strength to forgive her. Please understand you'll never be able to find peace unil you do.
As you start your day Mom, I challenge you to walk in the grace and anointing only given to a woman who has earned the title: Mother. Go to your choice house of worship and allow the Spirit of the Lord to cover you. Know that your latter days are going to be so much better than your past. Which means it's time for you to take that long deserved break and be appreciated. May the joy of the Lord surround you today, and everyday. This we pray in Jesus' name...Amen! Happy Mother's Day!
