Today's Passage: Isaiah 50: 4-10
Memory Verse: Isaiah 50:4
Greetings, Lifers! God has put us on a journey to turning off the controls used by the enemy to keep us desensitized to His Word, while maintaining desperate cravings for his stuff. It is quite a challenging process as we all know. The flesh becomes accustomed to doing certain things-- eating what and when it wants, buying whatever, and watching what it wants to. So in the season of turning FROM the spirit of lust TO self- denial, being filled with the true love of God which casts out all fear, we need to fall in love with God's Word and the victory within.
How can we do this? Today's passage tells us to rely on God to wake us up early, before the world's influence kicks in. He promises to speak as often as we are willing to listen, and God always keeps His promises. Every morning when we wake up, we need to be still in order to hear what God has to say about what He has in store for us. Yet, anxious thoughts and concerns seem to easily sidetrack us, pulling us away from our Father before He can speak life and strength into us.
Which brings us to today's H.U.M.P. Day challenge. The first chance you get, find a quiet place where you can allow the voice of God to speak to you. His Word says when He speaks, we come away filled with wisdom. There's no such thing as walking in fear or confusion when He is around. If you didn't get a chance to let Him speak to you this morning, it's okay. No matter when, you still can. Just let Him in. When we get to the place where we truly begin to see God's Word as the final authority in our lives, our purpose for every day will become much clearer. Have a purpose-filled day!
